About me

The post bellow is old, and not so descriptive anymore. More than anything else I think this video (that I´ve made) will describe my world-view. I highly reccomend it!:

My name in Tor Økland Barstad (the English version of the name is Thor), I come from Norway and I was born in 1990. I study economics. Earlier I’ve had Norwegian blogs, but found that it’s probably more fun to blog in a language that’s spoken by more than five million people. Why I named my blog How is earth? Well, the blog is going to deal with a lot of “big” topics, and all the good names were already taken.

In Norway I try to convince  people that we should use our oil-revenue (we are very rich due to oil-export) to help rising living standards and fueling economic growth in poor countries, and to fund science. I have written a book about this, and hope to start an organization with the goal of using the Norwegian oil-wealth to help humanity as a whole (more about this here). There’s probably going to be some posts about foreign aid and other North-South-issues here. But there will also be a lot about science and technology, and a wide range of other topics as well. You can look for posts about the topics that interest you the most in the sidebar.

Many of the lengthy posts are not mainly written for the blog, but for other projects. I think it will be easier to write when I can publish parts of my work immediately.

    Dear Thor,

My name is Bill Hawthorne, and I represent maacenter.org, a leading web resource for asbestos exposure and mesothelioma cancer information. Our organization is dedicated to increasing awareness of the terrible health consequences of asbestos exposure.

I found your site through a search and decided to contact you because of its high environmental and green presence which is extremely important in our movement. The promotion of how buildings should now be built using sustainable green products to avoid asbestos as well as the awareness of past buildings and preventative steps in avoiding asbestos exposure are extremely important. My goal is to get a resource link on your site or even to provide a guest posting to be placed.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to check out our website. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Besides, it features a free barcode scanner as well as a comprehensive
database of food and activities. Thus while I’ve tried using various tips
and tricks to build my blog audience, I’m always finding
new ones which could be the catalyst for explosive growth.
